To join the UCSC Amateur Radio Club, all you have to do is attend our meetings! (Date, Time, and Locations can be found under “Meetings“). No prior experience necessary, all are welcome! We’re happy to talk to you and get you up to speed.

Another way you can get involved, ask questions, and get a sense for what the club is currently up to is by joining our Discord server with this Discord invite link.

While not strictly necessary, we actively encourage those who join the ARC to prepare for and participate in one of the official amateur radio license exams that we strive to offer at least twice a year. That way you can get licensed as a real amateur radio operator, which is a lawful requirement if you want to get on the air with us! Doing so will grant you permission to use the equipment in our radio room (BE 308), as well as participate in events like Field Day, and any other “on air” club activities. We’re here to help get you licensed, so please join us for one of our meetings if you’re interested!
